The main objective of the project is to enforce the level of the social integration of families at risk of social exclusion by the dissemination of methods of family assistantship in public support institutions. Detailed goals of the project include:

  1. Enhancement of professional competencies of social workers in the field of the use of modern methods of working with families at the risk of social exclusion.
  2. Preparation of a new, adequate to the modern forms, form of the environmental support, addressed to families at risk of social exclusion, by adapting the methods and techniques used in the process of helping to the conditions and practices used in the public assistance institutions

The project is addressed to the representatives of institutions that support individuals and families socially excluded or at risk of social exclusion.



The key activities leading to the preparation of Intellectual outputs of the project will be the followings:

Transnational project meetings at which the partners organisations exchange the good practice

Additionally transnational project meetings will be dedicated to joint discussion on the merits of the project. They will result in preparation of groundwork for Intellectual outputs. Furthermore our meetings will be devoted to evaluating the subsequent project phases, together with their changing and improving – in such a way that addressed the needs of the target group properly.

Focus group interviews testing the needs of the target groups

Project “Integration through Education” is supposed to address the actual needs of the target group, and primarily the problems of family at risk of social exclusion. Therefore, we start from the recognition of resources, tools, ways of doing family assistantship. We will also ask for beneficiaries of support -families’ opinion. Both groups will be invited to participate in qualitative research conducted using “focus group interview” method.

Preparation of a test version of the methodological tools

The task of each of the partners will be to prepare the test versions of methodological tools designed for the needs of the final version intellectual output will be E book.

Study visits for the experts

Each of the partners will choose one expert. Those experts will take part in the study visits in each of partner’s country and they will observe the methods of work.

Training for the experts

In the next phase experts mentioned above will take part in the trainings organized by BFI Austria. Trainings will be based on the test version of methodological tools.

Training for project participants

In the next phase our participants’ tasks will be the application of methods and developed tools in their daily work with families. Family assistants receive scenarios of group workshops and activities as well as the outlines for individual conversations which help them to inspire and in the same time integrate their clients. The participants will also evaluate above mentioned tools in terms of their usability and efficiency.

Conferences on dissemination of the project results

In the last phase of the project in each partner country we will organize a one – day conference. New methods, tools, ways of working will be shared with representatives of the target group who could not participate in all project activities as well as with local, regional and national social policy makers, and family assistants. The conference program will be full of various forms of presentation of intellectual outputs and other results of the projects: lectures, panel discussions, workshops, reports coming from the testing phase, case studies. Conferences will be one of the ways of dissemination of the results of our two years of work. Thanks to them, we intend to maintain the sustainability of our outputs – that being a source of further inspirations in the long term will result in the successful family assistants work with families.
